The R&D Group EGICAD is experienced in the study and development of methodology and technology related to Visual Impact.
One of our latest results is focused in off-shore Wind Farms.
We can apply our methodology to offshore areas at a regional level
The result are the aforementioned VIMS (Visual IMpact Map Series).
VIMs are conceived to be included into optimisation models. We do not work in the field of optimisation. Thus, a possible participation in Blue Deal would involve i) the creation of the VIMs and ii) the co-ordination with the optimisation team in charge of obtaining the optimised layouts
Conditions in time and funds would need to be agreed
Visual Impact can be predicted following some postulates.
Visual Impact and Landscape integration are related but clearly different things. We are limiting this proposal only to Visual Impact Assessment.
Social answers are unpredictable (in our opinion). VIMs is not focused in this particular issue.
Our proposal can contribute to
– OBJETIVIZE the problem (the visual impact minimisation)
– EXPLAIN THE POPULATION THE SENSITIVITY WITH THE LANSCAPE/VISUAL IMPACT
– HELP TO MAKE BETTER DECISIONS IN THE PROBLEM OF SITING OFFSHORE WINDFARMS
BUT: THE SYSTEM DOES NOT MIRACLES. VISULA INTRUSSION IS ALWAYS PRODUCED AND SOCIAL ACCEPTATION IS NEVER GUARANTEED.
